Ijmal Razi Haider
I was diagnosed in November 2015, with ulcerative colitis. At that moment I didn’t really know what that meant, or how it would impact my life. It didn’t take long for me to understand though. As my health deteriorated, through the trials of different treatments and medications, I started losing hope and confidence. Once I started finding others that shared the experiences I had, I realized there was a light at the end of the tunnel and that life wasn’t over, it was just different. I met so many inspiring people that showed me in many ways how their lives improved. They helped shift my perspective. It wasn’t until I realized that I wasn’t alone, and that there was power in my vulnerability, and story that I was able to find positivity again. It is something I will always have to work at, is finding positivity. My message to other warriors is that pushing for positivity is work but it’s worth it, and that you are enough.
